Weely Photo Challenge: Resolved

I don’t really do resolutions, so this challenge has been a tough one for me.

When I was twenty-three, I had a month of solitude. During this quiet period, I came up with my “meaning of life.”  I was able to distil the meaning of life (for me) into two parts.  One is to be a lifelong learner, to be continually evolving and open, not just intellectually, but also emotionally.  The other is to have a positive impact upon others, to be a positive force in the world…. to be kind, compassionate, and empathetic.  Now, at forty-four, I resolve to continue on this path.

I resolve to continue to exercise daily, eat a healthy diet, and get my nightly eight-hours of sleep.  I will continue to practice “being in the now.”  I will continue to follow my bliss, walking in nature and photographing the beautiful things I see.

I resolve to secure income-providing work opportunities.  If anyone hears of a part-time work for a nature-loving MBA with an employment background in international marketing, please let me know.  I also have a strong financial background, with enough accounting units to sit for the CPA exam.  I’m open to receiving leads!

I resolve to continue to be the best mom, wife, daughter, and sister that I can possible be.

I resolve to continue to create community and facilitate friendships through the two nature-oriented social groups that I created in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Now how do I express all this in a photo?

Did you create resolutions for 2013?

To see the challenge… Weekly Photo Challenge:  Resolved

  • Soooo, your resolution is to continue to be bodaciously awesome? Excellent! I’d say just keep doing what you’re doing and you’re good on the resolution front. Keep it up, Nature Mom!

    • Haha! I think I was trying to say that I made those “resolutions” over the years (not just in January, but I adopt “healthy” changes whenever it seems like a good idea). What I don’t think anyone knows is that I was self-employed for a few years as a massage therapist / personal trainer / wellness coach, so I kind of have the things down that most people make as resolutions. 🙂 I have lots of other things I’m constantly working to improve upon (being a better parent, learning to use my camera, improving my writing, etc). But those aren’t “new”….

  • What wonderful personal goals and challenges. I think I am closely aligned to those same intentions, although it took me a much, much longer time to get there! 🙂 What delightful, personal gifts you are offering to your precious son!

    • I can see through your writing that you are also of the same mind. Also, these are goals and intentions, but I don’t always succeed. All I can do is my best and be kind to myself when I falter. Life is a work in process!
